What if I told you we found an adaptive alien species? Advanced intelligence? And amazing cloaking skills? Enter the octopus. Wait a minute. What do you think I'm talking about? Are these slippery ocean dwellers really coming from outer space? Where do they come from? How did they come to earth? Well, it's time you put on your tin helmet, because today we are a little "out". Octopus is cool and mysterious. It is so mysterious that the theories put forward by some scientists don't even come from our planet. Octopuses are highly intelligent creatures and masters of disguise. They can use color-changing cells to integrate with the environment, move their arms to mimic other marine species, and are excellent problem solvers. So what if they are so smart that they take swift action against all of us? What if they are aliens and they just make us believe they originated on Earth? The theory is that 500 million years ago, an ice meteorite carrying alien life forms fell to Earth. This body alive? Fertilized octopus eggs. Brains are wide open! Case closed! Thanks for watching the video and remember to like and subscribe. Well, I can see that you are skeptical, so let's dig a little deeper. You may wonder, how do alien life forms survive in cold space before reaching earth? Well that's it. Microorganisms, like those seen in bacteria, are very resistant. Microorganisms can thrive at temperatures as low as 18 ° C (0.4 ° F) and can even be stored in liquid nitrogen (LN2) at 196 ° C (321 ° F). This means that they don't care about the extreme pressures of space and can theoretically float for billions of years before hitting a planet. But if the octopus actually crashed to earth 500 million years ago, where did it come from? Well, we know that the octopus is an aquatic creature, so let's start from there. Our bet is Europa, one of the moons of Jupiter. Europa has an icy exterior and there may be a liquid ocean underneath. For an interplanetary octopus, it looks like a comfortable space, right? 500 million years ago, would a huge asteroid hit Europa, causing a lot of debris to be blown into space? If so, could some of the fragments contain octopus eggs? The answer is, maybe? Call me Fox Mulder because I want to believe it, but it's really crazy. Is calling octopuses aliens the only way to explain them? I mean, we have a lot of strange creatures on Earth without alien interference. In 2015, scientists mapped the octopus genome. Did you find any surprises? They did, but the alien origin story is not one of them. The most important discovery is that their genes were isolated from squid about 135 million years ago, which is much longer than they supposedly fell to earth. So, do octopuses really come from outer space? Well, this is a fascinating theory, but to this day, it has no scientific backing. Even if they are not from outer space, it does not mean that we still cannot learn from them. But don't just take our word for it.
